On April 5th, 2025, the iconic NEHU Campus in Shillong became the epicenter of something bigger than sport. What unfolded was not just an event, it was a cultural ignition. Skateboarders and BMX riders from across the country came together to carve, flip, and fly, all in the name of movement, creativity, and expression. This was MINUS01 STREETJAM, the first milestone in what we believe is a much larger journey.

Reimagining the Rules: The Classroom Edition

In a bold twist, STREETJAM opened with The Classroom Edition — an activation that transformed traditional classroom setups into ramps, benches into platforms, and lessons into live demonstrations of skill. Riders turned the campus into a playground of freedom, where every stunt was a form of storytelling, and every fall, a lesson in resilience. This edition blurred the line between performance and education. It challenged how we learn, how we move, and how we connect.

Talent That Speaks Volumes

Over 70 participants from across India joined us to showcase their craft, not just to win, but to represent their communities, their cities, and their scenes. STREETJAM brought together emerging talent, seasoned riders, and passionate fans into one cohesive energy.
Special recognition goes to our “Class Toppers”: Ginaldo Jana – BMX and Russell Synrem – Skateboarding. Their performance captured the essence of the event: bold, expressive, and unapologetically individual.

Culture in Motion

Beyond the skate decks and bike tires, STREETJAM was alive with stories. From cosplay showcases by the Shillong Cosplay Community to electric dance performances by the students of NEHU, the day celebrated every form of subculture that thrives in the Northeast. As night fell, the Classroom Party, soundtracked by Aiden from Guwahati, brought everyone together — dancing, laughing, and living in the moment.  The crowd didn’t just attend, they belonged.

Supported by the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of Meghalaya, and the NEHU Student’s Union, MINUS01 STREETJAM marked a new level of credibility for the scene.

Even Shri Shakliar Warjri, Hon’ble Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, took notice, opening conversations about skateboarding’s inclusion in the National Games 2027. What was once underground is now finding its place in the mainstream.
